*Jeffrey Jones, QB for St. Pete, was the real deal. He led the state in rushing coming into the game with over 2000 yards. He's also scored 49 TDs this season. He added 2 more TDs rushing and 2 more passing Friday night. The game went to a running clock with 6:00 left in the first half.

My grandson re-broke his thumb early in the game. It was the first game he had played without a cast or brace all season. I think he did it on purpose.😉 He had 6 forced fumbles when he had the cast. 😁

Ohio D1 State Championship is St. Edward vs Springfield. Trinity (KY) scrimmaged Springfield this year.

Warren (Downey California) lost 24-21 in the CIF Division 3 state championship game to Saint Bonaventure. Woodford County beat Warren 40-39 in week 4.

My nephew's team advanced to the Semi-Finals once again when Prince Avenue Christian (GA) defeated Irwin County 41-7. They play 12-1 Bryan County next as they look to reach their 4th consecutive State Championship game.

Of note, last year Prince Avenue defeated two teams to go on and win state titles in different states. Hammond School (SC) and Chattanooga Baylor (TN). Prince may be on the way to doing a similar feat as Hammond (SC) wrapped up like their 6th or 7th straight State Title last week and Pensacola Catholic (FL) advances to the Florida 2S Semi-Finals.

Prince Avenue defeated Hammond 42-13 to open the season in Columbia, SC and Prince went all the way to Pensacola at the end of September and won 56-20.
