We have one room in our home that is a WiFi dead zone.   Anyone have ay recommendations on a range extender/booster that may work?

What about a Mesh Router?

Where are you located and what are you needing internet in that room for?  Reason I ask, streaming wouldn't require much of an expensive/sophisticated boost set up.  Playing games on a system that you want to maintain a 500+ download, 100+ upload and a below 25 ping, well that's a bit different. 

It would be in an upstairs bedroom.  Router is on the main floor.   Mostly so my daughters can use their gaming console.

I googled this topic because of this thread and there looks like some solid, low cost options that would be seamless.

I thought about that, but I don't want to spend a couple hundred if a $30 extender will do the trick.

Is a super long ethernet cable an option?

The TP-Link RE220 was the least expensive range extender during my first run of at-home tests in 2020, but that didn't stop it from outperforming everything else I tested at every turn. As Wi-Fi extenders go, it's fast, it's reliable, it works with just about every Wi-Fi router out there and it's easy to use. And, as of writing this, it costs even less than I paid for it initially -- down to less than $20 on Amazon.

I tried extenders, but none of them really did the trick, especially as the demand increased. Ultimately, at least for me, a mesh router answered all of my problems, and was money well spent. My situation though required  some horsepower, as nearly every electronic item I own is some sort of smart device, from lights, to several tvs, computers etc. And I work from home, so I need rock solid reliability. If your needs are simpler, an extender may work out.

What did each of you go with?  I am working on some upgrades to my home workstations and I am having an issue in one room.

Have 4 eero's in my 2300 sq ft, 2 floor house. 2 units upstairs, 2 down. One is a plugin the wall that I bring outside when I'm watching TV or working in the summer.

I have one eero Pro 6E right now with my main system plugged in and my second system working off wireless along with my TVs.  And 1500 square feet is about right.

What would you recommend for me?

I just got a $40 NetGear range extender.   It works well enough for what I needed it to do, but still doesn't perform lights out when a lot of people in the house are using the wifi.   I think with taxes I am getting something with a little more muscle.

More muscle is usually a good thing.

I am thinking one more eero Pro would be the easy solution.

I think depending on your house layout, one more eero would be a good idea. I've been very happy with mine, and instead of a pro, I got the beacon, which is portable....just plug it in wherever you need it. I take mine outside a lot when I'm watching tv/listening to music on my deck. The only disadvantage to the beacon is it is completely wireless...no ethernet port.
