January 16, 200719 yr I don't see either of them getting out of town anytime soon (5 or more years) and as long as their happy they have no reason to.. However Rick has nothing to prove and I could see him retiring before Tubby. I agree, When and if either one of them leave jmo but I think that it will be when they decide to leave. Imo if either is froced out it would be Tubby but I belive that both of them are there for as long as they want to be there.
January 16, 200719 yr Both would have leave by choice. Pitino leaves before Tubby simply because he will lose interest. No chance either is fired. If Tubby was fired then Lee Todd, Mitch Barnhart, and the rest of UK's administration would be crucified by the media for getting rid of an African-American coach with a winning percentage like OTS has.

I KNOW I am going to regret asking but what does OTS stand for?

I agree if this happened the media would say we knew this would happen to Tubby at UK it was only a matter of time. Heck he has been there over 10 years now. You are right heads would roll.
January 16, 200719 yr Tubby will be around for at least another 10 years. You really think he'll be around that long? If so, he better win a title in the next few years....
January 16, 200719 yr You really think he'll be around that long? If so, he better win a title in the next few years.... Yep. The NBA thing I think is way off. I think he is a great college coach who would be a horrible NBA coach. His style and his temperment is not made for the NBA. I don't think there is another college coaching job he would leave UK for. He would have to really fall off of the wagon to get fired at UK. His track record, I don't think, is enough to get fired. So that leaves him feeling he wants out. Not sure I see that happening for at least another 10 years or more. And I believe he will be back to the Final 4 before this freshmen class graduates. Maybe as soon as this year.:sssh:
January 16, 200719 yr Pitino will be gone first, but it will be on his own terms. I agree he doesn't look well, or that he has the fire anymore, but I see him leaving for a different reason....Politics. Tubby may be taking heat, but the man can flat-out coach. His recruitment is not that great, above-average, but not elite. What Tubby really needs to do is get rid of either Hanson or Rigot and replace them with a solid recruiter. I disagree with lbbc about 10 years for Tubby. I don't think he gets fired, and I do agree he gets to another FF before he leaves, but I say he will be gone after 4-5 more years.

January 16, 200719 yr I agree he just doesn't seem to have the same fire that he used to. If he leaves it will be his choice. I have been saying this to my UL fan friends all this year. I may be wrong, as I have been many times, but he just doesn't look interested. Looks like something is weighing on his mind.
January 16, 200719 yr I think that Tubby will be here longer. Pitinos suitcase is always Packed and ready to be moved.
January 16, 200719 yr My view too. He will decide he has not the energy it takes anymore and will move onto television. Tubby will be around for at least another 10 years. :thumb:
