And what Deuce says is true- as much as HE's jacking it, the other shooters are refusing to put the weight on their shoulders. You don't want your 24% 3pt shooter taking 35 more 3's than anyone on the team. For comparison Smith and Soas are tied for 2nd in attempts with 68, and are hitting 47% and 40% respectively.

January 16, 200719 yr It is the other things that Williams isn't doing for UL. He is not rebounding the ball with any consistency, he is turning it over frequently, and not getting teammates involved. To have two rebounds in 40 minutes of play...ouch.

January 16, 200719 yr Off topic, but since the UL site was brought up I was browsing (uoflsports.cstv.com) and was reading Pitino's bio. It mentioned that he and his wife had 5 children and named them, but their was no mention of Daniel, who died at 6 months. Kinda odd not to include him, probably not Pitinos idea.

January 16, 200719 yr Then how are you going to say 02 is wrong? :laugh: Anyways, the Cards played reasonably good basketball tonight, minus the dismal 3-point shooting again, Marquette (mainly James) kept hitting big shot after big shot...David Padgett is the best player on our team right now, too bad he's our Center. Free throws are still missing, Caracter still isn't playing defense, ect., ect. On to Depaul... Im saying 02Ram is wrong by saying that James lit them up and that was the ball game. You could say UL didnt shoot well and that was the ball game. Or UL's Williams played selfish and that was the end of story. There is multiple elements as to why UL lost the game.
January 16, 200719 yr Louisville = No shooters As I like to tell my players, we have plenty of shooters, what we need are makers. I must admit that I am shocked that UL has no shooters. The one thing that Pitino always seemed to have was someone to make 3 pointers. Actually 2 or 3. If Pitino can't get them maybe that is a huge commentary on the quality of shooters in HS basketball.
