Congrats to Tyler Fryman! He is an amazing athlete. 

Wow, Fryman must be amazing but I can't see how committing to a specific college when you are in the 8th grade is a wise decision.

I don't know the specific numbers on it, but it seems some of the most successful programs - especially Louisville in baseball - are going after the uber-talented 8th graders.

While I'm sure there are example where this doesn't work, clearly it's paid dividends for Louisville. Aside from that, it's just another in the many "plays" in the playbook to attract top talent. I'm sure schools expect a good number of these kids to fall by the wayside, but those that don't....

One example is Somerset grad Kade Grundy, who is having a nice start to his sophomore season at Louisville. I'm pretty sure he was offered as an 8th grader. 

For every one that's offered that young, there's at least one that the offering school forgets about when the time comes when the player finishes their high school career.  

Is Tyler Fryman (2027) looking to play football in College instead of baseball at Louisville?  Did something happen with the Louisville offer?  I know many colleges are pulling baseball offers due to roster #s and the portal. I wish him luck and will be interesting what other offers he gets.

While these offers are fun to talk about, they are just verbal offers and aren't binding on either end. Often times one of the parties end up changing their minds prior to the athletes junior year when they can actually sign their letter of intent. Again, it's great visibility for the athlete and certainly an accomplishment to be proud of.
