The 2 schools didn’t play the previous 20 years either.  Why would a very small Class A school want to play a school 4 times larger.

Going off what happen when they did play. The talent at Frankfort high was up there able to play with County. Them were good games. Talent has shifted all way to the East side

Problem in city of Frankfort is gentrification is occurring. Majority of the places to live in downtown are now being flipped and out price range of the average family.

Gentrification has nothing to do with that. If you really knew what you was talking about you’d know Frankfort High has almost half its roster lives on the Eastside each year and I’m going off since 2000. Even most the students at Frankfort live out of district.

Woodford and FC had a date set to play. Once the new district was finalized FC had an extra team and that date got bumped. Woodford has got the best of FC last two years and they cleared the whole stands! Hopefully this hiatus is temporary. FC is not scared to take their but whippings if they got one coming.. No offense But Corbin, and Scott Co, Ballard, and plenty of other teams on their schedule proves they do not duck anyone.

FC Will have a lot of work to do to stay on the Pace they been on. Those kids and staff will work to get it done.

FC always plays a decent schedule, but with the addition of Spencer and Henry in the district and losing the players they lost, I think this district is a little more open than years past.

Here is the run down:

Western Hills - New Coach.

North Oldham - New Coach (Pending).

Shelby Co. - 2nd Year Coach, according to social media and roster a lot of returning players, more coming out. This could be a team to watch.

Henry Co. - Coach Wright has a system in place and just came off one of his best seasons.

Spencer Co. - Coach Marksberry longtime standing coach and had a great season but heard they lost a lot of talent in this senior class.  Still a good team.

Franklin Co. - Coach James 2 Final Fours and constantly competing with the top teams. 1 quarter away from state finals this past season.

I think the district will be interesting this season, but you have to give the edge to Franklin Co. as Coach Eddie James has shown some dominance in his tenure. Especially with the exit of Central out of the district and majority of starters returning.

Open to rebuttals on this opinion.

This was great, thank you.  I did not realize Coach Brown at NO was out. Is there a reason? They played a close game against FC this past season and placed 3rd in the district.  Eddie has done great things with that Flyers program and always has talent pouring in.  With the exit of Central and all the info on the other teams, I don't see this district being as lopsided as years past.

What I read and heard, think he was tired and he is also an assistant principal. Tough job doing both and he did a great job with program. FC vs North game was closer than the score showed, 21-20 heading late 3rd or start of 4th I believe.

Big piece is with new coaches we don’t know what will happen. However, this district is going to be a fight for #1 and #2 seed especially with sister district still in place for playoffs.

Hopefully they can continue trending in the right direction.  I heard that they had an ex coach that was in Jefferson County wanting to move back into the mix. The #1 and #2 seed will have a very favorable matchup if district 3 is sister district, at least for this first year of transitioning.

Since 2014 Frankfort High hasn’t had the talent come through to play FC. Bad enough was out number but once the talent went away them games got super ugly quick. Sad and hate see that game go away because everyone grows up playing each other since kids and makes a fun rivalry. Had some great games from 04-12.

Partially because kids that "should" have been at Frankfort went to Franklin County.

Well you don't know what you're talking about if you think "half" of FHS' roster lives on the east side, especially back that far.

That's also not true. FHS and FCHS renewed in 2003 for several years. FHS won two of those games during that stretch.

Goes both ways. Plenty of kids left County and have went to High.
