Last night they looked like I expected them to the whole season. It has been a bit of fits and starts for them this season, but if you look at who they've lost to there's no one bad (Southwestern is the only team with a losing record to beat them and five teams have already won 20+ games). They'll be a very hard out in the postseason, just like they always are.

Agree.  The only question is quality 3 Pt shooting...Quisenberry looks to have improved his shot and Meyers and Turner can make them, but still probably not the strength of their games.

Agreed. It’s a dangerous thing in a way. The three ball is not a recipe for them winning night in and night out. If you look at their stats, they’re shooting about 26% from deep on the year. That’s not how they’re going to make a run. One good night doesn’t change that reality.

DCA also played them man. With Quisenberry at PG, that did Boyle a huge favor. Because of him, they’re much harder to beat when they face man. No one can guard him one on one and that changes the game. A zone neutralizes him (and Tarter), and makes Boyle look completely different on offense.

What was the tiebreaker based on with both 6 and 2 teams?

I agree with everything you've said. I will add this, Lincoln played Boyle zone and it was effective but Boyle shot well that night (which we all agree they're inconsistent shooting the 3) but that zone also allowed Tarter (Hager to a degree did as well) to kill Lincoln County, he absolutely ate them alive on the offensive boards. Boyle has a couple ways they can beat you and they're a very solid defensive team as of lately.

I believe it is:

First is head-to-head...still tied.

Second is points for location wins, 1 for a home win, 2 for a road win...still tied.

Third is record against common opponents at common sites, which is where Lincoln gets the nod.

I wouldn’t blame Tarter’s rebounding success on the zone. Looks like he had 16 to 17 boards against a 7 footer last night in man to man!

I will note that big Lou is battling and playing through a pretty significant knee issue.  He had a heavy brace on last night, and didn't seem nearly as mobile.  Injuries/illness mount up this time of year, and often it comes down to a battle of attrition...

I'm just stating facts. We all know it's easier to rebound against zones and he went to town against Lincoln. He's hard to put a body on. He's a great rebounder in general, but even better when teams are in a zone.

He's about 70 rebounds away from breaking the school record in career rebounds.

I don't know if there is a real advantage between the no.1 and no. 2 seeds. It is a mater of match ups and I can see advantages to both Lincoln and Boyle. We have seen a resurgence from Boyle after a slow start and so many football players on the basketball team. I also think that there can be a factor of being a little stale at the end of the season if you try and play too many games and practice basketball year round. I  liked seeing my players play more than one sport, because I thought it kept them fresh and they didn't seem to burn out

That’s one thing you don’t have to worry about with Boyles kids. Not only are the basketball players playing in the evening they’re up at 6:45 working out with the football team. The kids work their tails off.
