No sir. No sir. No sir.  - you cannot believe that.

A McDonals All American appearance isn’t a fluke, and that’s what you’re implying. Sheppard is the best player in the state, and one of the top in the nation. Stats don’t tell everything, I’ve watched him in many games against some of the best teams/players in the state, and his game is on a different level. The way he moves, his IQ, hands, athleticism. Everything is top notch and better than everyone else in the state.

You aren’t one of the highest recruits in the nation, committed to UK, and a McDonalds All-American because if your name, commitment, or who your coach is in the summer. He played with and against some incredible talent in the summer, and did not shy away from any of it.

North Laurel must have been hearing the noise about them being overrated.

  • With a title like that, I figured you needed to show up every night.

Do you think the son of a current NBA player should be a McDonalds all american? Do your research, its more than STATS and WINS.  I am passionate about UK basketball as well, but dang.

Have you watched him play? He is one of the best players in the nation as well, and will be a great role player in the NBA one day. His defense and IQ is some of the best that I have seen.

I think that people expect him to be like his dad, causing some to believe he’s overrated because he isn’t the player his father was.

If we are bringing up this conversation, why weren’t Jordan’s kids ranked higher? Neither of them were even top-60 in their position.

Come on man. Yes several times, in person.  His dad has convinced everyone he will be there and his money will get him there.  He is great, but top 150 to 200 great, not top 50 great.  Have a great day - gotta go to work.

Yeah, you better get to your job.  You're not going to make a living scouting basketball players. LOL

I respected you more than that.  I just don't drink the cool aid.

Haters gonna hate

Players gonna play

Kid has proven it in HS but will have doubters going forward. My guess (as no one KNOWS) is he will be a contributor his first year at UK and shine in his second (under a coach other than Cal)

The NBA will be there in the future.

There you go.  Do you think if he signed with any other school he would be a Mcdonald all American? - as for AAU, he played for his dad. - that helps   He is awesome and well deserving of the accolades BUT there is so much more to it.

The head coach for Reed’s Midwest Basketball Club team was Brook Cupps who is the dad of Gabe Cupps.

My only point is - there is alot that goes into this stuff - that most don't even know.  They just pretend to.

Now the kid is an awesome player and deserves all the good things that he has received.
