Far and away the two most successful All "A" schools in the 12th Region with Somerset having won 18 titles and Danville winning 10. Somerset beat Danville in the 2020 and 2021 finals. Danville is looking to break a 3-year final game losing streak having lost to DCA in 2022. The Admirals most recent title came in a 67-40 romp over Washington County in 2019.

I got a feeling Somerset is going to win this game. I know Coach Ryan Young will have the Jumpers well prepared, plus I am a big Clay Clevenger fan and he's a Jumper now. Somerset wins by 8.

Danville is the favorite.  They're the deeper/more athletic team.  Somerset missing Coomer (starting PG) will have an impact.  He's their best on ball defender and handler.  With that said, I expect Somerset to be ready and make it a great ballgame.

Somerset will most definitely have the home court advantage feeling, it will feel like a road game for the Ads. I think that might help Somerset pull off the win. Danville is more athletic, but the Jumpers got better shooters. If the Jumpers get hot from the 3, Danville could be in for a battle.

Somerset's leading scorer, Ben Goodby, lost his father suddenly this morning.  I don't really know how the team will be able to play this game tonight. I would have to think that this will weigh heavily on the girl's team as well.

Prayers to Ben, his family and the team.

Game is being streamed on YouTube btw.

Sorry, didn't see this until a bit later.

Here's the link with the entire game if you want to see Danville-Somerset.  The girl's game was streamed too:
