The refs lost control of the game early and often.

56 Fouls per bookkeeper.  4/5 Scott starter fouled out and the 1 got hurt.  Only 1 foul out for WV.  Should have been 2 WV ejections for intentional fouls.

Two fouled out for Walton. But I agree the refs lost control early and it seemed that the only thing they new to do was call fouls to attempt to regain control. The problem is they called fouls every time up and down the court. It was extremely bad.

How could the refs be calling fouls, pretty sure neither team was playing any defense.

My sentiments exactly!  ?

It doesn't appear Walton Verona has any interest, EVER, in getting stops and actually sitting down on defense.  Until they play both ends, they are a fun show, but I'm not taking them seriously versus any quality opponent.

I'm curious, would you not qualify Evangel Christian as a quality opponent?

Yeah, I suppose, but they are kind of a different animal, wouldn't you agree?  But sure, congrats to WV on a win over a Top 25 team, for sure.  I guess I should of clarified "when it mattered", but yes, beating a top 25 team is always impressive.  Still want to see Coach Hester value stops, and play with toughness on the defensive end, and I haven't seen it when I've watched them.  However, he plays an entertaining style, that is for sure, if you like NBA All Star Games!  ?

I will say I think this Walton team plays much better defense than last years. But for this game both teams were not allowed to play defense any type of stop was called a foul.

76 Total Free throws attempted.
29 for Scott.  47 for WV.
After the 2 intentional fouls by WV players that should have been ejections the refs went nuts and blew the whistle almost every trip.

Scott should have won this game looking at  the stats for both teams. Crazy numbers.

It’s was 42-38 Walton at the half. Scott was down a starter for the game and then another got hurt during the game.

Was it a bad crew?  Did they get caught up in the emotion and overreact?  Was it one bad official (or, I should say, an offiical who had a bad night) that caused the other two to have to react?

All of the above. It was crazy. Not going to name names but back in my coaching day I was T’d up by one of them.

Looking back over last few years Walton don’t lose to many games at home.

I wasn't at the game, so I'm just throwing this out there.  At WV these are 8th region refs, and believe it or not,  the whistle blowing from region to region isn't always the same.
