Much has been made about Archer and the defense this year, but they did improve versus Tennessee and played a heckuva game against Clemson. I have spoken to him a few times and is a super nice guy. The others echoed the same sentiment, and Cassity noted he knew Kragthorpe from his time as an assistant at Oklahoma State (when Kragthorpe was an assistant at Texas A&M) and said, “he’s a great person and a great coach” “I came here to coach at Louisville and my family loves Louisville,” Cassity said. “I wanted to pursue this avenue (at U of L) before I pursue anything else. When I took the job three years ago, I said the only reason I would leave would be to become a Division I head coach and that hasn’t changed.”
January 10, 200719 yr Cassity says that going to UK isn't going to happen. Haven't we heard every coach say that at some point in time? Didn't Petrino himself say it once, maybe Kraghthorpe has said it before at Tulsa? Coachspeak doesn't hold much water, IMO.

You seriously aren't quoting a coach, after a season in which all these coaches, notably, Saban, Kragthorpe and Petrino have said they were happy where they are at? Actually, I'm guessing UK promotes Steve Brown to the DC position.

January 10, 200719 yr Good luck Coach Archer and NC State.... I think he'll be a good fit for the ACC.. They place much more emphasis on offense than defense anyway.
