6A #4 Manual will travel to 4A #4 Central which should be one of the top games in the state. Last year JuWaun Northington led Manual to a 14-12 win. JuWaun Northington has graduated and Central returns the majority of starters on both sides of the ball. Central RB Cortez Stone who rushed for 1,377 yards as freshman last year returns and could go for the 2,000 yard milestone this year.

Manual returns several starters on defense and should be stout on that side of the ball. Manual will have mostly new faces on offense but do return WR Jeremiah Blakey who had 247 yards receiving. Manual last lost to Central in 2018 7-0.

This looks like another close game and most likely will be another low scoring game. Does Central avenge their close loss from last year or does Manual make it three wins in a row?

After seeing Manual scrimmage Oldham I can confidently say there’s a lot of talent there. Washburn I believe is the primary runner now and he looked poised for a big year. Incredibly shifty and runs hard. Once again I’m concerned with Manual’s pass game as they struggled to throw the ball against a below average OC defense. I will say manual’s defense is strong as usual and they have great size. I think this one could go either way but I’m taking Central in a low scoring contest 20-14.

@BBN_34, I agree with your winning team and score. My logic here is simple: Last year's game was a virtual dead heat. It took Jawaun Northington channeling his inner Walter Payton and Lawrence Taylor to pull that one out. Manual may be very good again, but I don't see them being better than last year. I believe Central will be. With this being the season opener, I'll take the Jackets.

These two usually play competitive games and being the first game of the year that will probably happen again.

I'll take Manual, 21-10.

I think Manual is up 14 to 6.

I don't know what is up with this video but it is just parked on the scoreboard but there is nice audio.

Manual 21 Central 6

10 minutes left in the first half.
