Houston 72 Arizona 60 (NCAA Sweet 16)

Featured Replies

Final from San Antonio. Both #1 seeds go down tonight. Houston will take on Villanova on Sat.

Kelvin Sampson is so good.  I still dream about what he could have done at IU if the program had not been annihilated because he made too many phone calls to a recruit.

I thought Arizona had the toughest bracket of all the #1 seeds.  Houston was the main reason for that.  They are far better than a 5-seed.

I like this Houston team.  I think I'm cheering for them and Arkansas to meet in the title game.

They were top 5 in KenPom coming into the tournament.

Houston beats the living hell out of you. It is a brawl each game and they are not going to be outworked. I'm rooting for them. Houston is actually now the betting favorite to win it all.

No surprise in this one for me. Houston is very good and one of the best defensive teams in the nation. I expected them to win this game. At this point with who is left, they can win it all.

KenPom pre-tournament rankings:

1.  Gonzaga (#1 West)
2.  Arizona (#1 South)
3.  Kentucky (#2 East)
4.  Houston (#5 South)
5.  Baylor (#1 East)
6.  Kansas (#1 Midwest)
7.  Tennessee (#3 South)
8.  UCLA (#4 East)
9.  Texas Tech (#3 West)
10.  Auburn (#2 Midwest)

16 of the last 19 National Champions came from the KenPom pre-tournament Top 6.  Houston & Kansas are all we have left from that group.

I told anybody who would listen that Houston would win this game.  They have impressed me as much as anybody in this tournament.

And Sampson has done it while losing a couple of starters, I believe.

They should have turned their hearing aids up.
