Roncalli is a nice add to the Bulldogs' schedule. Catholic school from Indy. The Royals won the 2020 4A state championship. 6A is the largest classification in Indiana.

I'd see this as a game that should be a win for Male, but a decent competitor.

Got the scoop from @Unrivaled97but confirming William Spencer and Jeremiah Collins no longer at Male. Male only had 3 or 4 starters returning on either side of ball so losing these guys will be big.

Dang, that's a big blow for them. I heard just a few days ago that Collins was at Oakland but didn't know Spencer had departed as well. Spencer is a load upfront, and the loss of him will be more difficult for Male to overcome than the loss of Collins. 

On a scheduling front, playing two out of state teams could come back to hurt them. Shouldn't have a problem with Floyd Central, but if the other IN team is able to beat Male, then a loss to an out of state school could really hurt their RPI. 

X, T and Male need to play the strongest schedules they can. Irrespective of the RPI.

I feel pretty confident that Roncalli will beat Male.  They are a very solid team with multiple D1 prospects themselves, including Trevor Lauck (OT) that just committed to Iowa.  Male will still be a very solid team, but the possibility for them to lose 3-4 regular season games is very real.

They only return 3 starters on offense and two of those are RB Daniel Swinney and WR Max Gainey. I think they graduated whole O-Line.

Another hit to Male but I would think he wouldn't be out the whole season. Hope he has a speedy recovery!

Just saw this…tough news for the Male Bulldogs but would anticipate he’ll be good to go by at least district play rolls around.
