KP has kept everything extremely close to the vest. Even veteran media members that have covered UofL for years didn't know about Manning or Jameison until literally minutes before the press conferences for each. 

The Manning hire is excellent.  He can give Payne a major program head coach's perspective.  Smart hire.

I don’t think it was nonsense necessarily. I think many around town and maybe even at UofL expected Milt to be on staff.

Any chance he is on the staff, just not as a coach?  Maybe director of operations, or something in that realm?
