December 30, 200619 yr You could tell that this was UK's first game back following the Christmas Break. Morris and Bradley provided the leadership and play that needs to be seen throughout the rest of the season.
December 30, 200619 yr Author UK looked kind of flat....good win though boys. I agree. Eastern gave them a tough time with their zone defense. Excellent game for Bradley with 20 points scoring 16 of them in the 2nd half,5 steals, 4 assist and 5 reb. He also played good defense and hustled until the final horn. Morris another dbl-dbl with 25 pts. & 10 boards.
December 30, 200619 yr UK looked kind of flat....good win though boys.I was most dissapointed with their mental approach and playing sound defense. I thought both squads hustled and played rather well. Ramel has become the team leader... and honestly doing a good job of it.
December 30, 200619 yr EKU's style of offense is tough to play against. I thought that Bradley had an excellent game. U.K. did what we had to do to win. That offense along with the 1-3-1 defense is tough when executed properly and EKU did just that. They are extremnely well coached and I can fully see why they had 8 wins. Good win for the Cats ! A "W" is a "W", on to Wend. night vs. Houston, the last tune up before the SEC play starts. As I have said throughout, this young team will get nothing but better.:thumb: I continue to be impressed with the freshmen.
December 30, 200619 yr Kentucky played? Hmmm......I think a good deal of the faithful were hung over from yesterday. :walk:
December 30, 200619 yr it's a good kind of game to get the lead out before the SEC starts...UL has been using the last 13 games for that :sssh:
December 30, 200619 yr Author I was most dissapointed with their mental approach and playing sound defense. I thought both squads hustled and played rather well. Ramel has become the team leader... and honestly doing a good job of it. I agree. Bradley really got after it today. Everybody seemed to flow after he picked up the pace in the 2nd half. The Cats defense had a few breakdowns at times but overall was pretty good. They tied a season high in steals with 8 & had 13 points off turnovers.
December 30, 200619 yr Author Leonard for Eastern Ky. was on fire and had a game he will remember for a long time.
December 30, 200619 yr UK didn't look all that bad IMO. Sure it wasn't a blowout, but EKU was unconscious from behind the arc. UK was playing solid D and EKU was still hitting contested/off balance shots. Very few teams will hit shots like that over as long a stretch as EKU did today. 46% of EKU's offense came from 3s. UK also hit 73.7% from the line. Thats nice to see.
December 30, 200619 yr What a joy Leonard was to watch. Last time I saw that was the Crispin brothers from Penn State.
