I don’t know much about the guy but do know that Louisiana has been decent lately.  With that said my initial take is that this hire is underwhelming.

I think so. One of the best up and coming, young coaches.

Has multiple years of experience in different roles at both Clemson and Bama and was on Florida State's staff the year they won the national championship. 

Don't think he can recruit at a top 5 level but I do think he can recruit well enough to consistently be the 2nd best team in the East. I think LSU is going to regret not hiring him.

Seems risky right?  But then again they thought Mullen was a “sure thing.”  You can’t Mullen’s lack of personality in a big pond.  @Walter posted a lot of impressive credentials.

I think this is good hire. He has done very well at Louisiana.

Have watched his teams in Sunbelt..... well coached and good players. Lafayette LA is not a garden spot for recruiting but he REALLY knows that area. Worked for Saban and Swinney. Energetic guy. He'll be ok IF players buy in.
