Yes because most of the time they don't send the A team.Their A team doesn't usually play a team like Ashland or Kentucky high school in general. They normally send the b team for a  game against a team from Kentucky, usually they send the A team for games against national competition who's teams have high level prospects who are committed to schools like UK etc.

 

To be honest they did only have one kid committed to Oregon State. It's not like  Ashland beat a team with guys who are committed to the Dukes and Kansas, UCLA, North Carolina and Kentucky's of the world.

Ashland will be a threat to win the khsaa state title. But this Huntington prep team probably won't be winning the geico nationals 2022. If Ashland can beat Montverde Academy then I would be impressed even more.

Yes I know Ashland doesn't play Montverde. I was just making a point Huntington Prep isn't as good as they were during the Andrew Wiggins years.

 

It is what it is, Ashland is a really good Kentucky team but not among the elite in the nation.

Flowers is a 4 star with 11 high major D-1 offers.  Johnson is a 4 star with several High Major D-1 offers.  I know Kansas and Ohio State have offered.  Several more players with more offers as well. 

So, I will give Ashland the respect they deserve.  They did beat an elite national team.  It is possible for a great team to come out of Eastern Kentucky.  Let’s just support our kids regardless of which school you support.  I hope the Tomcats go across the state beating all the teams that “Some think they are not supposed too.”  I didn’t go to school there but I am now a fan!!

I don't support Ashland in sports  in anything. As a Russell fan and Alum I wouldn't care if Ashland lost every game.  I gave Ashland credit when I said they are a threat to win the state title.

Davis is actually 2023 and Ky is calling, actually Coach O. Johnson has offers from Kansas and Michigan State. Flowers is 2024 and technically can’t get offers.  The center from  (South Sudan) was on the Dream Vision team whom won the 3SSB tournament in Omaha Neb.  Tyne is from Canada and isn’t with the team.  This HP is ranked nationally if you believe in rankings and offers. Bottom line is Ashland led from start to finish by as many as 25.

You are Right I don't like Ashland just like I'm sure most Ashland fans don't like Russell. It's called Rivals. I honesty did think it was probably the JV team though because in the past they brought their JV team to play Ky teams.

I said nothing about offers I said they only had one presently commited and that was to Oregon state.  If these other 2022 players were so good they would be commited to a power 5 conference team already.
