Oldham County broke a two game losing streak last week with a 45-22 win over district rival George Rogers Clark, led by senior quarterback Sam Young's 4 rushing touchdowns and 2 passing touchdowns.    The Colonels, who fell out of the 6A top 10 after back-to-back losses to Madison Central and Bryan Station (both 6A Top 10-ranked), feature a strong, balanced offense that produces 31 ppg.   Oldham averages around 175 yards per game both rushing and passing, and Young is the key.    Last year's district offensive player of the year has thrown for nearly 1,300 yards, with 15 TDs and 5 INT, while rushing for a team-high 632 yards and another 14 TDs.

On defense, the Colonels are led by senior linebacker Brian Monteleone, who leads the team in tackles with 58.   The senior is equally adept at rushing the quarterback, tracking down runners, or covering receivers - he had two interceptions in the win over GRC last week.

Bullitt East boasts one of the most prolific scoring offenses in class 6A, and - like Oldham County - the trigger man is the quarterback, Travis Egan, who has thrown for over 2,100 yards, 26 TDs, and only 8 INT.    The Chargers average 43 ppg and nearly 460 yards of offense a game.

Mason Gauthier has rushed for 1,301 yards and 19 touchdowns....through the air, Egan has two excellent receivers in Nolan Davenport (52 catches, 919 yards, 16 TDs) and Camron Brogan (56 catches, 822 yards, and 7 TDs).

On defense, Patrick Ballard leads the team in tackles with 49, but Isaiah Hare may be the most dynamic player on that side of the ball (35 tackles / 11 tackles for loss / 7.5 sacks)

East is coming off a loss to Male (55-14), which ended a five game winning streak...

Since 1998, Bullitt East leads the modern series, 4-3, but Oldham County has won the last two meetings, 35-17 (2017) and 52-0 (2018).

I will post updates as I can from Bell Field.

If Bullitt East plays the way they did against Male in the 1st half last week, they win by 2 or 3 touchdowns.  If they play the way they did against Male in the 2nd half last week, they lose by 2 or 3 touchdowns.  Anywhere in the middle and we'll have a pretty good, even ballgame.
