Does Bishop Brossart have the best defense in Class 1A?

I think that would still be a no. Chances are if NCC played that schedule, they would easily have done the same if not even better.

So far they have 2 common opponents.  Holy Cross and Newport.  NCC gave up 28 points combined.  Brossart gave up 7 combined.  Not sure if that indicates much since all those games were lopsided wins.  The next 3 games for NCC are common opponents.

The NCC wins were lopsided over both of those teams. As NCC had a running clock on both of those teams, before the other teams scored. So chances are it came against the backups. As for Brossart they were actually losing to Newport at halftime, and was only up one touchdown going to the fourth. Then they were only two touchdowns going to the fourth against Holy Cross. So in both cases Brossart would have still had to keep starting defense in, while NCC against those teams probably had backups in after getting the running clock.

.............but it's nice to be in the conversation.

All 28 of those points given up to Newport & Holy Cross were in 4th Qtr, Varsity offense vs JV defense & One was a KO Return TD.

NCC Varsity Defense shut both out.

Is this a serious thread?

Brossart posted a shutout tonight.
