Boyle County is very very good team. They have blown out some really good teams like its nothing this year.  Which makes me want to know just how good LCA is when they ran the ball at will on Boyle County. They did it with the starting QB out as well.

Boyle made some personnel changes on defense after the LCA game. Defense has been much better since. LCA was very impressive and has continued to impress since.

BG's defense woke up in the second qtr.  I think that's what happened to Boyle's running game.  BG's lack of offense early in the game had BG on their heels on both sides of the ball.  Boyle's penalties is the only thing that stopped Boyle for the quarter and a half of the game.  A couple of those really big Dlinemen seemed to wake up in the second qtr.  Second half saw Gillis being flushed quite a bit as well.  Boyle run game had 91 yards on 21 carries in the first half.  I'll take that against Bowling Green.

I personally thing BG played right into the Rebels hands by coming out and throwing to start the game.  Boyle is going to score points and that seemed to give Boyle all of the momentum to start the game.   Boyle did play the run well tonight but with that young Qb I think it put a ton of pressure on him early.

Of course not one single head coach called me to ask me what I thought leading up to this weeks games.  I keep waiting to share all of my knowledge but as of yet........no takers.

Hope all of the Purple faithful made it home safely.  I'll be honest I was expecting a larger visiting crowd.

Just rolled back into town for my first trip to Boyle County High School

Well I knew if Boyle had success throwing the ball I thought they'd win, but I didn't see this blowout coming.

Boyle was just better in every aspect tonight. Not much else to say.  Boyle's 18 or 19 year old QB behind that offensive line was really tough,  BG's offense just has too many issues to fix this season. I'm glad Deuce is getting a chance to learn and grow this season. Can't wait to see what the future holds for him, going to be exciting.

Coming off a state title last year, the Purples are just down this season. It happens.

I also don't blame Boyle County for trying to run up the score. It's not often BG is in that position so gotta take advantage of it.

Also of note thought the Boyle County student section was great tonight. One of the better ones I've seen.

Also think the mortar explosions over the visitor side of the stadium is really uncalled for.  It was really bothering some of the young kids and older people.  I didn't care for it myself either. I'm surprised somebody hasn't filed a lawsuit over that. That really shouldn't be allowed.

Yes, the QB decided to come back another year.  If given the opportunity in his situation, I think most kids would have.

I don't think Boyle ran up the score.  I think if they threw the ball more frequently in the second half instead of trying to run it so much, this score could have been more one sided.

The fireworks (not mortars) are set off far from the end zone, close to Boyle's baseball field.  They are not near the visitor section at all.  Boyle is very fortunate enough to have an alumni football player that is certified to build fireworks, and he does that every home game.  A lawsuit?  For fireworks?  Even colleges shoot off fireworks, cannons, etc.  when their team scores.

That was not Boyle trying to run up the score. They moved the ball at will through the air early and once they got a decent lead they stuck to the ground game for the majority of the game.  Our student section is usually pretty good and does the same for basketball. They take pride in what they do. The fireworks have been a part of Boyle home games as long as I can remember. Sorry you weren’t a fan of them.
