Early in the season and Danville has new coach & new QB. Burns is a capable back but some new youth on the o-line.

Garrard returns some experience but young experience. 

Who can make more plays early on to capture the 2021 DVB trophy?

 

Danville still has a lot of speed.  Burns is the difference.  Danville by 4 td's. 

Not sure what to expect in this one. Heard all offseason about troubles at Danville, but they looked pretty good in their scrimmage against Bardstown, they have an outstanding running back in Caleb Burns, and Mark Peach has been a successful coach at every stop.

As for Garrard County, much more depth than they've had in some time. They have some speed, although it likely isn't at the level of Danville. If Garrard can win the line of scrimmage on both sides, keep the ball on offense and avoid giving up big plays on defense, then it could be a really good ballgame.

Bottom line, though. Too many unknowns going into Week 1 to feel comfortable making a prediction.

Going in without your HC for the first game will make a difference.

Danville jumping on quick.  Scoring on the first play from scrimmage for 60+ yards on a pass and then a recovered fumble goes to the house.  Up 14-0 about 7 minutes into the game.

End of the 1st.  Garrard is in Danville territory at the 46, but Danville is up 14-0.

Garrard has moved it well on the ground but has gotten stalled and turned it over.  They controlled the ball for eleven minutes of the first quarter.

Garrard scores and gets the 2 point conversion.  I was away from the radio, so I missed how the scoring play went down.  Danville still leads 14-8.

Option play by Danville leads to a 36 yard run for a touchdown.  Ads now lead 21-8.

Austin Adam’s from 39 yards out. Capped an 8-play, 72-yard drive.

He's having a good game.  Nearly 100 yards already.  This is definitely not a game for defense.

Caleb Burns punt return for a touchdown is nullified by a block in the back call.  Garrard forces a punt with 4:14 left in the 2nd.  Unfortunately for them, the punt pins them on the 1 yard line.

Danville tackles Quisenberry behind the line for the safety.  Moves the score to 23-8 Ads as we near halftime.
