bulldog77
I just wanted to acknowledge the passing of Holmes alum Brandent Englemon. I know nothing of the circumstances, how, when or what, but I just know I met this young man as a high school player and he was an absolute gentlemen and class young man. This is a loss to the Holmes community. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and former teammates. 1
theguru
From Brandent's friend on Facebook, Samuel Elsbernd: I’m not sure how to even write this but I’ll give it a shot. Brandent was one my first friends I made at Holmes in the 7th grade. Coming from St. Augustine it was a big change for me. By playing sports with him he helped me fit in. Those of you who saw him play know you saw something special. I’m just glad he was my friend. He was special. Rest In Peace, Brandent.

sportsfan41
I was shocked when I heard about this yesterday. As a coworker of mine put it, Englemon was GREAT for Holmes high school. As a student athlete he excelled both on the field and in the classroom. RIP
Colonels_Wear_Blue
@bulldog77 There was a little bit of discussion about it yesterday in this thread as well. Thanks for posting this, though. Really really was sorry to hear it. Brandent was an absolutely great guy. I think @Walter hit the nail on the head when he said Brantend was a "great ambassador for Holmes and the Covington community."
Walter
Former Coach says News of Brandent Englemon Death Was Heartbreaking I'll say the same thing I said in the other thread... Brandent Englemon was a great ambassador for the Covington community and Holmes family. Outstanding athlete, but an even better person off the field. I spent a lot of time at the Farley house during my 8th grade and freshman years with his son, TJ, being my best friend. This is where I first met and got to know Brandent. He was someone everyone looked up to and had such a positive influence on so many people.
