Former Paducah Tilghman head coach Jonathan Smith has joined the McCracken coaching staff as an Associate Head Coach and Defensive Hybrids Coach.

Coach Smith had coached at Tilghman in some capacity for a lot of years before taking over for Steve Duncan after his resignation due to health. He was the Head Coach for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons for the Tornado.

Coach Smith's addition should add another element to an already heated rivalry. There will be some good storylines heading into the game this season.

Ouch - Pitino to UL eh?

Very interesting move for McCracken.  I know there was an exudes of middle school players that went from McCracken over to PT a couple of years ago.  The young Tornadoes embarrassed McCracken that season and they haven't played since.  These kids are now soph/juniors that were lead by coach Smith...  who is now a Mustang.

It's worth mentioning that former Trigg County head coach Coby Lewis has also landed on McCracken's staff. That's a seasoned group that Marc Clark has put together. It'll be interesting to see how they work together and whether or not they can help get the Mustangs to that next level.

Wow!  Coach Lewis is a very valuable pick up.  Good offense minded coach.

Smith is solid and so it Lewis. This could be the best staff in Western Ku

That’s now 3 very good former Head coaches on their staff ( Smith  & Lewis along with Brad Lawson)    Those kids are lucky to be coached by that quality on a daily basis!
