Not in the least! Just seemed like you were asking a bunch of questions. I was just asking whether or not you were tiptoeing around some info you had about things at Murray, or if you were just honestly curious...nothing wrong either way. No problems here.

For the record, I think this is a solid hire by Murray - especially considering the fact that they were really left in a bind as far as timing goes. Maybe @snakesnot_2000 is right, and Coach Bowling doesn't like to air the ball out enough. Looking at Olive Branch's stats on Hudl from last year (which I'm not certain are complete), they were attempting passes 4 times or less in each of their games, except for one game where they stats reported 31 attempts...which seemingly can't be correct. Who knows.

The Tigers were left without a DC or HC on the evening of June 16th.  They both are from west TN and have always lived there.  Coach Morris (DC) was offered a HC job @ West Carrol about 10 days prior.  I wish him the best and he is a great young mind the Genuinely cares about student/athletes!!  Hodge came from Dresden, TN.  They contacted him on Monday asking if he wanted his old job back. I'm guessing he will be there until he desires not to be.

Coach Bowling came into the Olive Branch job kind of the same manner he was hired at Murray.  It was a tough situation from the get go.  He stepped down in January after 1 season and finished the year as the AD.  My guess is he wanted to be back in this area (WKY, WTN).  Lifestyle in Olive Branch/Memphis is a bit different. 

I agree with CWB.  I do think Murray made the right decision. Coach Bowling runs a tight ship.  He will get kids mentally tough and ready to play!

I also agree with @snakesnot_2000 that Coach Bowling's style with the flex bone is going to be something they will have to adjust to.  I think that will go both ways!  He's going to have to involve the talent he has available.  Having Zavion Carman, (6' 4", speed, great hands, sophomore), Xavier Biggers (fast, quick, great hands, sophomore), Cam Youngblood (good route runner, Senior), Kam Murphy (6'2"good hands, junior), and Colin ?(6'0", strong, physical TE, sophomore).

KY football is different and that is something Coach Bowling will have to understand.  He can go back to 2017 and watch the Mayfield game (41-0).  Union City went on to win the TN state championship averaging 39 points per game. Mayfield went on and lost the KY state championship to Danville.  In 2A football, all roads in WKY go through War Memorial stadium as it did last year when Murray beat them in a thriller.

I like a lot of your points @FB Head. I just think it suits Murray to be different than a lot of other WKY schools and 2a schools. If Murray tried to run a spread offense (similar to Mayfield, Caldwell, etc.) they will probably have the same success they’ve had over the last several decades. It’s hard to out Mayfield, Mayfield. But if you run this style which if ran correctly can have you control a lot of the clock, make the defense wrong and gives defenses something to prepare for and be disciplined. The reason a lot of colleges like army and navy run it is to beat teams that are better than you. It also helps come playoff times in cold bad weather. I do really hope that they can incorporate a good pass game with it. You have to play 1 on 1 coverage against it. Throw it 8-12 times a game and it can put up some more easy points for you and make defenses really think.

@Bud_Kilmer I do not think Coach Bowling will run spread.  It doesn't seem to be in his DNA.  I was just making the point that he has to use the talent that he has available.  I'm not putting down the flex bone offense by any means.  It can be a super efficient offense in many ways.  Defenses have to be very disciplined when run correctly.  Running the ball and controlling the clock is key in November.
