Eugenio Suarez, he of the .228 OBP, has been moved up to lead off. Guess they're hoping for Winker and Castellanos to provide some protection. Hate to tell them, but the entire Secret Service couldn't protect Suarez, the way he's been swinging lately.

Happy to see Suarez take Scherzer deep, he needs to get up between .270-.290!!! With what was expected of them compared to what they’ve done do we have possibly the 2 most underachieving pitchers in MLB in Castillo and Garret???? What does everybody think??

Yes last night he took a close game and used his best available weapons. Problem is that now Antone is out for several days so that option is gone. Move of Suarez to leadoff results in homer but also 3 strikeouts.

If he had to burn Antone to do it, that's fine. Just get the win, especially with how the team is struggling. Suarez hitting that HR to RF was a good sign, despite the 3 K's. Keep him at leadoff. Change his headset.

The only game you can worry about winning is the one you're playing right now. I wish Amir could've closed it out...but after giving up one HR, I can't blame Bell for bringing in Lucas. As to the HR by Suarez, I agree that the fact it went to RF was a good sign. (Hopefully it wasn't just because he was late on the pitch.) We'll see what day 2 brings.
May 27, 20215 yr Author Reds-Nationals game last night suspended due to weather. So, it'll be a part of a double-header today. First game is at 2:05, with the nightcap still at 7:05. I know they used to start completely over, if a game was suspended (which would benefit the Reds, since they were down 3-0). But, I believe last year, due to Covid, they ended up just picking up where the game had been stopped. Didn't know if that was now the permanent rule or not. Anybody know which way they're going this year?

If they resume last night's game where it was stopped (bottom of 4th) they could probably go either way. If they start over from scratch, I'd almost guarantee that they'll both be 7.
