The Hill leads by 2 with 1.52 to go in third quarter, When Doss found another gear the youngsters coudlnt match. Michael Fuller had 20 for the Hill!

They represented the 16th well this week at the KOB

Rose Hill continues to impress. Great looking young players that don't back down from competition. The 16th is represented well.

Euton and Jackson were among the fourteen named to the all tournament team. Very impressive for freshmen.

Euton had over 100 points in the tournament and Jackson had over 50 rebounds both earned their spots on the all tournament team. Michael Fuller also had a great week.

 

As for today's game Doss was simply great the last 9 miniutes. Rose Hill gave a great effort, shot well, and played well but as Shooter said Doss hit another gear for about 7 miniutes and pulled away. Brooks and Anderson are both top notch players. Euton hit 6 threes for the Hill.

 

On thing that continues to amaze me is watching Chad Jackson jump center. Rose Hill lined up for the jump ball today with Chase Jackson under their basket and nobody back on defense. Keep in mind that Jackson was jumping against Brooks who is a legit 6'8" and a tremendous athele. FWIW, Chad got the tip.

Jackson is what they call a "quick twitch" type player. Scouts really like this quality in a player. They can get to a point or back up on a rebound quicker than normal leapers. This is something that makes you very special as a player.

This was a big game for the young Royals. :thumb:

 

At the 4:54 mark in the 3rd quarter the score was tied at 48.

 

Three minutes later, with 1:54 remaining in the third, Rose Hill led Doss by two 52-50. The Royals held Doss to two points for three minutes of play. :eek:

 

That's when Doss Coach Purlee called a time out and lit a fire under his team.

 

Doss ended up shooting 58.8% in the second half and 56.1% for the game.

 

One of the most surprising stats is that Rose Hill actually out rebounded Doss 37-33.

 

Jeff Brooks for Doss is the real deal. He's a great competitor, tremendous athlete and a fine young man. He's committed to Penn State and is a legitimate D1 player. He's fun on and off the court.

 

One of the highlights of the game was the "you've got to be kidding me" expression on 6' 8" Brooks face just prior to the tip off when he got a good look at 6' 4" Chad Jackson who would be jumping against him. Priceless... :lol: Like Chris Tucker in "Rush Hour" with Jackie Chan. :lol: Jackson won the tip, but Brooks scored 20 to Jackson's 19 to win the game.

 

This was a great experience for Rose Hill. Thanks to Lloyd Gardner and the K.O.B. staff for a great tournament. Congratulations to the Hill's freshmen Euton and Jackson on making the All Tournament Team. :thumb:

Yeah those young kids are th real deal at Rose Hill. I give them tons of credit for stepping up big like they did all week. Doss now moves on to the 5/3 classic in Lexington where they will be looking forward to more tough competition and hopefully a rematch against Male in the 3rd round.

I watched Euton play at Rupp in the preseason and I could not believe he is a freshman. He looks and plays like a senior...

I get these odd "quick twitches" all the time in my eyelids, my back, legs, etc. I've always believed it was age related...now I know I'm just "special.":D

I was told last year that Euton's frame was very slight, but he didn't look that way to me. How old is he? 14? 15? What are the chances that he will continue to grow and fill out?

 

On the other hand, he certainly doesn't look 6-8 to me. More like 6-6 at the moment ...
