Harrodsburg all-time

Featured Replies

I also remember a young man bringing us water out. We might not have been the best team, but we sure had a lot of fun and made good memories.

Don't sell yourself short. You and your teammates got the first two winning seasons and did alot to to lay the foundation for future success.

Have a good Christmas and tell your dad hello for me.

Your dad came to a play-off game, and me and several other ex-players had a good trip down memory lane with him.

That is what he likes best. Being with his old players and telling stories.

To get this thread back on Harrodsburg........... I also remember their even front defense, bringing pressure like you wouldn't believe in the A gaps, man coverage across board. In 82, we were trying to throw the ball a little bit. They were able to rush the QB pretty good. It was a different era, but I would like to take a crack at the defense again from a shotgun and a few screens. They would still tackle us for short gains, but at least we could maybe move the ball a little.

But, it is safe to say the QB rungame from the shotgun would have stunk at Mercer in 82. Not much athleticism at the QB position!

Merry Christmas to all the old Hogs, Dogs, and the new Titans!

If they did not have good end play then how come the scoring was so low? I thought it was said that good end play was what slowed them down. Also i was looking through some of the coaches records recently from Garrard and saw that Perry was 65-18 over a seven yr. period that he was their. 6 of those 18 losses came at the hands of the Hogs. Also i saw that they scored alot of points during this time. Its hard for me to understand how the offense was predictable. Was it predictable when they beat the likes of Beechwood,Bardstown etc?

Harrodsburg abandoned the single wing in 1984. Coincidentally it was the first year Mercer beat Hburg in about 20 years or so....

So the Garrard Hburg scores from the previous thread were after Hburg left the single wing offense.

That would have been their most talented team if Nicky Yeast had not broken his leg early in the year and been lost for the season. Their only loss in the regular season was to Boyle County on a "hook and lateral" play at the end.

Imagine a healthy Yeast (Tank) with Henry Parks, Venus Meaux and Gus Parks. :scared:

Hatz, I got to talk to my buddy Gus a couple of months ago in Wallyworld, That story you tell of seeing him sliding into the endzone on his knees cracks me up something terrible everytime I think of it.  I can picture him doing it now.

Yeah, but now he would be pulling something important.

Me, I'd probably have to have Rebel help me get up. :D

He abandoned as much as anything because of one RB, Donald Smith. He figured that guy needed all the touches he could get.

Add Chase Wofford and Freeman Edwards to that list. Edwards is being recruited by several colleges. Wofford will have to make his decision whether to play football or basketball.

These two were solid high school players but I dont think that they belong on that list.

Just stating that these two former Hburg players were being recruited to play football at college. That's all!

You still need to remove the bottom two from the list. They didn't coach in the 60's.

Ok, here we go:

2003-05: Terry Yeast (16-17)

2001-02: Bill Baldridge (11-11)

1998-99: Donald Wayne Smith (18-6)

Baldridge's Pioneers were 11-1 in 1974. Wins included Danville, Paris, Shelbyville. Lost 8-0 at Bardstown for district title.

I have nothing for '73.

General, '73 and '74 are included in those coaches other year totals.

Sorry, I read (incl) as incomplete, not included. My bad.
