Who has Rowan beaten?

Struggled for three quarters with Lewis.

Lost to average West team. I know without Daniel.

Greenup, Hill, and Elliott have better wins than Rowan at this point.

 

Who has beaten Rowan? West Carter in a fluke win where Rowan was without their leading scorer. Like I said, I started the season with Rowan number 3 and until they prove me different they stay there. We'll find out alot about them this week as they play 3 games in 3 days, with one of those against a 5-1 Madison Southern team at Madison Southern.

Elliott has beaten East and lost a buzzer beater to Russell.

Hill has good wins at KOB.

Greenup has beaten east and lost buzzer beater to Russell.

In region play soon will sort some things out.

They have beaten the teams they should beat by double digits. I'm not basing anything on buzzer beaters to Russell because even Fairview was in a tight game with Russell. I'm also not basing much on wins at the KOB. I am veyr happy to see a 16th region team get those wins, but I don't know how other teams from the region would have faired in the same games.

 

I am a little sad that Rose Hill doesn't play anyone in the 16th besides Elliott in the Class A if both win and Ashland. They don't play Russell, Rowan, or Greenup.

Just to make sure we are clear on this. I have know problem with the kids that are now at Rose Hill. I have know problem with the kids that once attended Rose Hill and then decided to attend public school for whatever reasons. I am sure the parents of these stundents all have their reasons.

 

I think we all know who played where and when. And like I said some are now going to school in the public school district in which they live. No they do not belong to Rose hill and many only attended the school for a short time. Reffering to them as "our kids" was a bit much.

 

My only point was the smug attitude taken in post 16. Scooter likes to stir things up and apparently my comments in response are not appreciated by some.

 

Again, I have no complaint with Rose Hill School or who is on their basketball roster. I wish them the best of luck this year and in the future.

It has been repeatedly posted on BGP that, when Rose Hill loses a child to another school, our reaction is to continue to support that child and to wish him/her well. Unlike some of our well known neighbors, we do not "rent our clothes and gnash our teeth", demonize the child and his/her family, and start the merry-go-round turning at KHSAA.

 

That is why these kids feel comfortable coming back to visit Rose Hill. They feel welcome and they are welcome. Regardless of what uniform they wear and the process that led to them leaving Rose Hill, they are still "our kids".

 

I would think that our approach is preferrable to what we often see from our public neighbors, don't you?

From what I've seen, the kids at most schools seem to be friends off the court and for the most part friendly rival on the court. It appears to me the "problems" come from the supposed adults.

Yes I do. I think that is the common sense approach. But I think when you say "our approach" and"often see from our public neighbors", you lump the minority with the majority. And it does make you sound a bit elitest.

You are absolutely correct. However, the adults, right or wrong, are the ones who are in the position to cause trouble. I assume that by adults you are including the coaches, athletic directors, and other administrators of schools because they are actually the ones who cause the problems. Parents and fans, in and of themselves, are not in a position to do much other than to whine and pressure the "schoolies" to initiate "processes".

With Elliott and Rowan losing to teams they should beat,I believe Rose hill is the #2 team here no doubt about it.There athleticism alone will beat some 16th teams.

Not basing much on wins at the KOB? Seems like a very selective criteria for your rankings. You don't count loses because someone was hurt nor do you count wins over teams you haven't seen. To each their own but that seems just alittle biased.

After tonight's action, I'll revise my rankings:

 

1. Russell - #1 until they do something to lose it

2. Rose Hill - Impressive showing against major competition

3. Greenup - Silently racking up some big wins

4. Rowan - Tough loss to Garrard Co. tonight

5. East Carter - Big road win against Elliott tonight

6. Elliott - Not a top 5 TEAM at this point

7. Boyd - Nice showing so far this season

8. Raceland - Definately a competitive team this year

9. Ashland - Sorry GIAT, but they need some wins

10. West Carter - Up and down so far

11. Morgan Co. - Nice win in last game

12. Fairview - Has some experience

13. Lewis - May pick up a few wins

14. Bath - See Lewis

15. Menifee - Lost 72 - 23 tonight - WOW

16. Fleming - No signs of life yet
