Cov Cath (10-2) is headed down to Louisville for a third time this season, this time to take on the St. X Tigers (9-2), who are fresh off a come back win against Seneca on Wednesday.  The Colonels and the Tigers have two shared opponents thus far this season in Trinity and DeSales. St. X lost 81-58 to DeSales on Jan 26 and beat Trinity 62-54 on Jan 19,  while Cov Cath beat Trinity 51-50 on Jan 22 and beat DeSales 68-62 on Jan 15.

Varsity starts tomorrow night at 6:30pm. I'm not sure whether or not there will be a JV game, but I don't believe there will.

Ha...here's a version of the game card using some slightly older versions of the school logos. That's a 1940s-era logo for Cov Cath, and a mid 1960s-era logo for St. X.

This is a shot of one of the St. X basketball players from their first team in 1914....but I can't exactly make out the details of the front of his shirt.

Yeesh, basketball in knickers and high socks. Crazy.

I think the obvious choice is Cov Cath since they are a top team. Most likely Ayden Mudd will still be out for St.X. Cov Cath will give St. X problems in post. I’ll be at game and looking forward to seeing the Colonels.

Haven't bothered to check, but I'm assuming St. X is only allowing tickets to players' families?

Correct. Coaches like myself also can get a ticket.

Varsity only for this one. Unfortunately, no frosh or JV games.

CovCath going for the sweep of the other 3 all boy Catholic schools in the state.

If X doesn't have a lot of size in the low post, they need quick guards to disrupt the Colonel offense and deny entry passes.

With not a lot of size it will be a struggle for St. X. If Varga can knock down a number of threes they can probably keep it close. Voted for St. X in the poll, but not sure how likely that really is. While Carter for St. X get any playing time for St. X? A big guy who could probably cause some problems for Cov Cath down low.

Been a while since I've seen that logo used with CovCath.

With the game being in Louisville, I think the Tigers will battle and make this a close one. If X is can hit some 3's, game could go either way.
