Bengals at Texans Predictions/Updates

The 3-10-1 Bengals fresh off the big Monday night win over the Steelers travel to Houston to take on the 4-10 Texans Sunday at 1 on Fox. This is another winnable game for Coach Taylor to pick up a much needed road win for his squad.

Why is it a "must needed road win"?  Win this game and you go from the 3rd pick in the draft to possibly the 7th pick depending on how the tiebreakers play out. No thanks to that. Go Houston.

Much needed for Taylor I think was the point. The organization needs losses from here on out I’d think.

I would love the third pick as much as anyone. However, if they could find away to win this one and then upset the Ravens knocking them out of any playoff hopes. Then them kind of finding that winning culture going into the off season, probably would help even more than getting the 3rd pick. This team needs to learn how to win, so it would not be a bad thing for this team to continue to experience to end this season.

I was not referring to it as far as draft position but in the fact that Taylor has yet to win a road game in almost 2 entire seasons.

An interesting side story involving these two teams.  It is being reported that Marvin Lewis is scheduled to interview for the Texans head coaching vacancy.

A win in this game drops the Bengals to the 4th pick behind the Texans. The Texans have a stud left tackle so I doubt they will draft the tackle we want. The risk is the Texans could trade out of the pick to someone else who wants the tackle.

That pick actually belongs to the Dolphins. The Dolphins get the Texans first round pick, because of a trade from last year.

Allen is back in the lineup today at quarterback for the Bengals.

The Bengals start off with a nice first drive of 71 yards capped off by 8 yard pass from Allen to Sample. Bengals lead 7-0.

The Bengals defense hold the Texans to a FG after the offense turns it over on downs just inside the Texan 50. Bengals 7 Texans 3 with 1:22 left in the 1st quarter.

Bengals had a nice drive that stalled out at the Texans 33 yard line and Seibert misses a 49 yard FG.

Bengals have another nice drive 9 plays for 74 yards but have to settle for a Seibert 35 yard FG to make it 10-3 with 3:30 left in the 1st half.

Touchdown Texans. How does someone get that open with just 25 yards from the goal line. The extra point is good it is tied at 10 with 1:54 left in the half. The Bengals will get the ball to begin the 2nd half.
