Great Crossing travels to play the Broncos in the 5A district 6 playoffs, This will mark the 2nd year that the Warhawks have traveled to "The Farm" for a playoff game. The Warhawks have played the Broncos twice in the early history with both games being 50-0 Bronco wins. Great Crossing finished the 2nd season at 3-4 after a 1-10 inaugural season. The Warhawks are lead on the offensive side y quarterback Jake Broughton and running back Perry Kalib. Kalib is also the leader on defense as he leads all of 5A in ave. solo tackles per game at 18.1. Also, LB Orylend Fisher is 3rd in 5A in forced fumbles.

Frederick Douglass comes into the game at only 4-1. The Broncos had several games canceled due to Covid concerns and had a lot of problems trying to pickup games. The Broncos will actually be playing their first game in 28 days. Douglass is lead by several D1 players on offense such as: Darius Neal, Dekel Crowdus, and Dane Key just to name a few. However this year the Broncos defense has been very good only allowing 46 points in their 5 games.

Great Crossing has improved significantly from their first season to this year, but they are still not near the same level as the Scott Co. and Frederick Douglass unfortunately. Look for Douglass to cruise in this one.

No offense to Great Crossing, but if you're a Douglass fan, a game like this is one you'd almost rather not even have to play. The Broncos are so much better than the Warhawks, the outcome is not really in doubt. You just hope everyone makes it out healthy, ahead of next week's game.

Probably not going to be one of the better first round games....

Sticking with the tradition.
