Thanks for the updates @Colonels_Wear_Blue!

CovCath definitely has some talent on their freshman team.

Despite some sloppy play mixed in due to rain, Cov Cath gets the W.

Evan Pitzer shows off his throwing skills despite the rain, and Owen Leen had a great showing of his running ability.

Ryle's QB Larry Warner threw a nice ball, although they looked to the air less as the game went on and the ball was less reliable for good grip. Their running back Lanier (I'm hoping I was spelling that correctly) is solid too. The Raiders came out of the half in a two back set that absolutely rocked the Colonels' defensive front for a few plays, but then didn't seem to use it any more after that, which left me scratching my head.

A crazy SIX onside kicks in the game. Each team was successful in recovering one of their kicks, and each team had at least one onside kick that didn't make it the required distance before rolling dead. Funny to watch.

@Colonels_Wear_Blue you asked me if Wolfe was Tim's brother in the update thread and I just got on the site-it is Mike's.

Congrats to Covcath on the win. I did think it would be closer. However, they were able to beat Ryle by a similar margin as Cooper did, and Highlands the second time they played Ryle.

Does Covcath play next week, or is their season finished?

Playing Boone Co again immediately after the JV football game against Boone on 11/7.

It will be interesting if that game gets played, due to the Kenton County area now being in Red for Covid. Hopefully the game does get to happen though, and the districts allow them to play.

Overheard from the freshman locker room post-game:

"Way to make the entire freshman team not like Geisler. Who cares if it doesn't make sense to have him play freshman with only 2 games left? It's a jerk move when there are already freshman on CCH team who are better than him. His parents must be friends with Coach E from Ft. Thomas days."

Conner and Dixie just scheduled varsity after their games were called because of Covid. I doubt that gets called unless there's a positive test at CCH or Boone.

Meant to say Mike's son, of course.

Not surprised.  As I said, one beef of theirs was that he was not surprised playing varsity at Highlands.

I was picking up what you were putting down ?

One day this freshman team will be asked to block for Geisler.... I wonder what that's going to look like?
