This should be a good one for the 5A District 6 title. This is the makeup from the originally scheduled on Sept. 25. When this series began in 2017 Scott Co. scored a 100 points in its first two games vs the Broncos it their inaugural season. However in the four games since then the Broncos have outscored the Cardinals 115-42. The teams are currently tied at 3 wins each since they began playing.

The Cardinals defense so far this year has been lights only allowing 76points for a average of 12.7 per game. The Broncos defense is very good as well they having only allowed 46 points in 5 games for a average 9.2 points per game.. The Cardinals offense has scored 247 points for average of 41.2. The Douglass has scored 199 points in 5 games (actually in 4 games and 1 quarter).

Scott County is lead in rushing by Montago Jones who has 648 yards in only 4 games for a average of 162 yards per game. Cardinal quarterback Zane Patton has thrown for 6 touchdowns and only 1 interception.

Frederick Douglass junior quarterback Samuel Cornett is starting to settle in to the job he is tied for the top spot in 5A with 16 touchdowns and 736 yards passing. Junior wide receiver Dan Key has 8 touchdowns to lead the Broncos offense. Running back Darius Neal has 447 yards on only 60 carries.

Something will have to give in this game since it features the #4 and #5 scoring teams in 5A. The #4 and #5 defenses in 5A. The #3 and #5 scoring margin difference in 5A. Finally Scott Co. has the #1 rushing offense in 5A at 297 yards per game, and Douglass has the #3 rushing defense only allowing 44 yards per game.

Scott Co. has wins over #8 in 6A Bryan Station and a good win over a improving Ryle team. Douglass lone loss was to #3 in 6A North Hardin by 2 and have impressive wins of 28 points over #7 in 6A Ballard on the road and a 40-6 home win over #1 in 2A LCA. For the Cardinals to pull off the win I think they will have control the ball with their run game and try to keep the Douglass offense on the sideline. I hope the current numbers on Covid hold out and the game gets played this time.

Tough comparing these two via their common opponent in Montgomery County since they were both romping wins, and Douglass only got in 1 quarter of the game before weather ended it.

The Cards have had a little extra time to plan for Douglass with their cancellation with Ballard, but you also have to wonder whether or not Douglass was just practicing for this week's game for most of last week as well.

Scott County's struggle with Ryle back on Oct 2nd looks more legit after Ryle's last two wins, but aside from that game and Bryan Station, they haven't really been battle tested during the regular season. Despite RPI, the Broncos' seem to have had the slightly more challenging schedule at this point, by my estimation...plus I think there's a good chance that their Week 1 loss to North Hardin leaves Douglass with something to prove when it comes to performing against a challenging opponent.

I pick Douglass here by 2 touchdowns.

Douglass 35-21.

Well on today's map they went back to orange so they should not cancel as of now but 3 more days who knows.

It looked like they did already since Douglas is looking for a game on the listserv.

Well looks like it is. Maybe Great Crossing could play Douglass now. Its kind of strange they are quarantined now it must have happened today they played Oldham Co. last night in JV. I wonder if this will impact them now.

Maybe Douglass and St. X could move their game up to this week so that Douglass and Scott Co. could maybe play next week.
