Thoughts on the match-up?

I have not seen Newport but I see upset potential in this game if Holy Cross can get focused on doing the things that win games.

Holy Cross getting an early lead could certainly help in that area.

That would help tremendously. It would keep the team energized and focused on the game.

This program has won 3 varsity games in 3 seasons....if they aren't energized and focused to win games then that's a coaching issue, isn't it?

Newport will have no issues with HC.  Newport should have beaten NCC but could not close the deal and that is part of winning and developing though.  Should have doesn't win games.  That being said, Holy Cross has struggled all year and maybe I am taking too big of a Wildcat stance, but I just don't see them competing Friday night.

Holy Cross has size and some talented players. They are capable of surprising a team.

Holy Cross 7 Newport 6

Wildcats 14 Indians 7

1:37 left Newport 21 HC 20.  HC just turned over on downs.  Didn't let the kicker try a 41 yarder for the win.  He has hit them in practice.
