I do think Frankfort is and will be a much better team than they showed last night. They have athletes and really all they lost from last year was Anderson. Granted he was a big part of their team, I do beleive they have the talent and experience to turn things around.

I don't think FHS would have won becuase FCHS shot the ball so well.

 

One more thing to think about this senior class is on their 3rd head coach in 4years. Which makes it tough for these kids to trust a coach. It will take the month of December for the coach and kids to trust and believe in one another.

You are exactly right on the coaching turnover. It is very difficult on a program.

 

The one program in the 11th that has handled this best is Lex Cath. This is because they are for the most part committed to a system that is put in place at the middle school level. They have one of the top middle school programs in the state as far as putting in a system and teaching fundamentals.

 

The three schools in Frankfort need to do a better job in this area.

I respectfully disagree with you about Chalk. As for Norman I wouldn't say he didn't know basketball. Talked with him on several occasions, he has a mind for the game.

Just like most Independent schools the talent pool will goes in a cycle. The 11th regiopn is tough if you got it or not.

I agree that having 3 coaches in 4 years is difficult for any athlete, professional, collegiate, but especially high school kids. Those athletes should be commended for not giving up and staying with the program. We as adults in our profession, how we would adapt if we had 3 different managers/supervisors in 4 years at our jobs, could we readily adapt to their thinking process and their "vision"? Good Luck to the Panthers, stay strong and hang in there this season. Thank you to the seniors: Eric Smith, Zed Smith, Josh Smith, Antoine Robinson and Cameron Jouett for being positive and continuing your basketball careers at FHS.

On one hand, it is unfortunate that the only chance these kids have at the HS basketball experience was marred by extra challenges. On the other hand, it is this kind of experience that prepare them better for the real world. It is not unusual, unless one owns their own business, to have a lot of different bosses. The key to success or survival is learning to adapt. These kids have a leg up.

Their middle school team has played all three miiddle schools in Frankfort for a number of years now. The team is comprised of kids that attend Catholic Schools in the Lexington Diocese.
