The Colonels and Pioneers hook up in a NKY scrap between teams that have gone in opposite directions. Simon Kenton opened the season with two wins, but have since lost two straight against ranked teams. Dixie Heights has flipped that trend, dropping their first two games to ranked opponents, but rebounding to win two in a row, including last week's hard fought, attention grabbing victory over Beechwood.

Simon Kenton is led by the sophomore duo of QB Chase Crone and RB Jayden Lawson, as well as an aggressive defense that's registered 14 sacks this season. Dixie Heights counters with the trio of QB Logan Landers, RB Pierce Rohlman, and WR Devin Holbert. The Colonels have been tough on defense every week against a rugged schedule.

The Pioneers swept two games against Dixie Heights last year. Every game in District VI looks like a toss-up this year, with all four teams appearing very competitive.

This should be good game. I’ll give Dixie a slight edge since have a better defense.

This one kicks off tonight at 7:00pm. I expect Dixie will have a video broadcast up on YouTube, as usual.

I'm with @Tigerpride94 calling Dixie the favorite tonight as the home team, and based on the two teams' performances in the last 4 games.

Dixie's offense is averaging about 325 yards and 23 points per game, and their offensive attack is basically a 50/50 split between rushing and passing. Their D is averaging 229 yards and 20 points allowed per game, and tends to be a little more susceptible to passing.

Simon Kenton's offense is averaging about 315 yards and 28 points per game, and their offensive attack is a 40/60 split between rushing and passing. The Pioneer D is averaging about 350 yards and 25 points per game, and is significantly more susceptible to passing.

Dixie ran the ball down Simon's throat and then got a holding penalty in the redzone, threw passes on 3rd and 4th down, and came up empty.

0 to 0 still in the 1st.

Dixie stops Simon on downs.

Pretty even game so far but I would give a slight edge to Dixie.

From memory I though the throw was slightly late but I agree it was a nice defensive play.

I think I was thinking of the play before that one, that was a good high school football play all the way around.

The Dixie running attack is strong.

You can hear the band/pep band on the broadcast, this is almost like being at the game.
