Paintsville seems to be rolling right now. They sit at 3-0 on the season and could be 4-0 if they possibly picked a game up the week they was supposed to play Crittenden County. Paintsville has a very good win over a East Jessamine team who beat fellow foe Raceland. They blanked Hazard and Perry County Central by the scores of 54-0 and 43-0. This week they play Fairview in a district matchup. They will more than likely be 4-0. Why do you think they deserve #1? If they don’t tell why? 

To me they are very good just not as good as Pikeville.

I believe the gap has closed significantly since last year, but Pikeville still gets the benefit of the doubt in the rankings. They've got a win over Belfry and a competitive loss on the road to a 6A school. The Campbell County game was probably enough to instill hope in some other contenders, but I don't think it was quite enough to take #1 from the Panthers. 

Who has Painstville beat that is as good as Belfry? 
 

No one... Their three opponents are a combined 2-10.

And two more easy weeks ahead. However, they finish with Raceland, Lexington Christian, and Breathitt County so we should have a better idea of where Paintsville stands once the playoffs begin.

If Paintsville can win all three of those games they should be the undisputed #1 ranked team in the class going into the playoffs. However, I don’t see them winning all three.

Beechwood, Pikeville, and Crittenden County were all canceled due to Covid. Don’t act like this is Paintsville’s fault. 

I don't recall blaming anyone or citing any reasons.  However, the fact of the matter is they haven't played a legit opponent.  Intentions mean nothing.  The question was "are they being overlooked."  Clearly, to me, the answer is no.  When they do play a quality opponent, I'll re-evaluate my opinion.  Till then, eh.
