I am completely on the outside, this is not a loaded question; what does that mean?

Let's hope it is just a rumor. Still wouldn't suprise anyone would it? Corbin only manages to hang on to 4 or 5 by their senior year. Wonder Why?

Well I will say this...the last couple classes were small when they were freshmen and small as seniors. Those that leave, quit, etc. imo put themselves and their own glory above that of the team and its achievement/success. It takes a special player to subject his own ambissions teenage ego etc. for the good of the team. If that means you are not the allstar so be it. Not many people care how many yards a team's back or receiver had in a certain year; all they look back on is the W/L's. For kids to leave for such "personal" reasons as this I for one will not miss their view of 'team'. That is why Knute Rockne said he would put his best eleven on the field...not necessarily his eleven best. A team is something larger than any player, and those that think they are above the whole need to be shown the door. Would that hurt the team in the short term...probably, the long term will not suffer. I will say we do not need to lose too many parts of the whole though.

I have wondered the same thing, about numbers dropping between the sophomore and senior years.

I believe all 3 players mentioned would be making a very POOR choice if they left. With a very established RB at the school that is rumored they would go to....where would any carries come from? Campbell would probably go to the OL, TE or at best a blocking FB. French would probably be a DB and a receiver without a QB to throw to him. Fritts would be the b/u RB and a safety at best.

Next year at Corbin, I believe Campbell and Light will both start on offense at TE and/or FB. Campbell's future is on D, IMO, probably as a MLB. French should be a receiver and DE/LB. Fritts will play on offense and could give Sanders a run for his money as the starting HB.

With the new rules it will be hard for any player to transfer to another school without a physical move, so any transfer attempt should be planned carefully. If any of the players think they would be better suited at another school....more power to them and good luck on the transfer. I believe we would challenge any transfer mentioned w/o a move. Campbell has a future above HS football, I hope he doesn't mess it up.

The school rumored to receive these players will benefit and the coach of this school for some reason is believed to be one of the better coaches for some reason? despite having a top rusher in the state and NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS, I would be interested in knowing the overall record for this coach....I believe it is under .500

It's kind of funny because there are 3 players from Corbin rumored to be heading to the that school and 3 players from that school wanting to come to Corbin. If the Corbin boys do go there without any challenge there is no way that the other coach should challenge any move of those 3. The other school would come out better because they'd be getting juniors to be while losing seniors to be. However I don't see there being any 3 player trade and that this is all rumors. When it's all said and done both teams should look about that same as this past season when it comes to familiar faces.

There are not three from Corbin wanting to go to another school. Fritts isn't goin anywhere. Now Campbell and French.... well i think chant summed it up for us what is probably their reasoning for wanting to go. Like i said not all people are cut out for it. Some have to be the main focus. Some places that can happen.

I here Corbin won't realese them. Also with the way the khsaa is they would have to sit a year. I think its time for corbin to kids to relize what they got at hand and grow up which I think alot has to do with parents not all parents but some.Campbell a good kid with alot talent but he need to get his mind right and if thinks he would get any more carries behind lynn camps two backs he won't. His dad and him need to look around and see how hard it is for this kids to transfer it just about don't happen any more and I think corbin won't allow it this time.Fritts will be at corbin.

It's not just Michael and Kevin. After talking to some of the boys, main focus is not their reason. Respect, and fun has to be part of this process, which they say they don't feel. We will not know untill baseball is over, but their may be more that will not play.

Corbins coach will make men out of them.............I guess some may not be ready.

Coach Jewell sets a high standard for his players, and he does not tolerate falling short of that. With that said he is not nearly as demanding of these young men as he was say 5-6 years ago...he has lightened up quite a bit. I do not see what their problem is...a little discipline never hurt anyone. And respect...I personally never felt disrespected by any coach, but I can certainly see how attempts at motivation can be mistaken for disrespect by a coach...especially by young 16-17 year old boys.

I agree with everything said about this coaching staff. While we have all had our share of "I'd do this if I were coach or I would do that", they each and every one are good coaches. More importantly, they are good men. We as fans get so caught up in the moment of the games and think winning on Friday nights is everything. Don't get me wrong, these coaches want to win as much as we do but they deal with these kids for hours a day 8-10 months out of the year. They want to make them better as men and students first and foremost. High School football is not the NFL to sum it up. In order to play for coaches that have their priorities straight, you must have your priorities straight as well. That calls for excelling in the classroom and off the field.

I'm not pointing any fingers at all towards any particular player and not even these two in question. I am just saying that 15,16,17, and 18 year old kids need to do some soul searching if they want to be a part of something that our fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and friends built that is Corbin football. When you live in Corbin you not only represent the Redhounds on the back of your jersey, you represent the jersey, school, town, and area. You should conduct yourself with class off the field and be an animal on the field.

The coaches may seem tough and sometimes even make you just not like them at the time. I guarantee that when these players hang up their cleats, they will look back and realize that it was the best time of their lives and that these coaches taught them more about life than they'll ever know. They'll teach them football as well. There is a fine line between coaches being too hard and giving a player tough love. These players need to realize that tough love is what is being dealt out to them and it will make them not only better at football but in life.

If have talked to alot of them as well and there are not any i have talked to even having that tone.

If thats the way they feel they should not wait till then they should go on there merry way. They don't belong to start with. But I do know for those who do stick football at any school that football well heip you through life.Especially when times get tough and days get dark.Go back to the days when practice was tough and you thought you could;nt make and the coach was on your but and nothing went right but only to succeed when things were over.I do know this Coach Jewall runs a very discipline and strict program and it will help young men to succeed and be winners and its not for every one.Football is not an individual sport I don't care how good you think you are or who you are.I think corbins coaching staff does an outstanding job teaching that to those who stick it out.

That's exactley the attitude that keeps good programs down. It should be the coaches job to use all their education skills and find ways to get and keep these boys on the field. Once you have them the hard part starts. To tell a teenager this is how it is, take it or leave it, is not the answer. That's a cop out. Some may have it to start with, some may not. If you run them off, how can this pride and tradition everyone talks so much about be taught. Are you just born with it or what? A good LEADER and MOTIVATOR will find ways to work with the ones that may not catch on as fast. The success of any leader depends on his followers. It's easy to ignore this, and just let them go away. A true leader will find a way to take a negative and turn it into a positive. Life is much to short and sometimes you only get one chance to make a difference. Hope everything works out though.
