7:00-Tates Creek at Madison Central

7:00-Scott Co. at Frankfort

 

Thursday, Mar. 5 semifinals at EKU at 6:30 & 8:00

Saturday, Mar. 7 finals at EKU at 5:00

From a fans view point, I think it sucks. I can't figure out a way to be at two different games at the same time on same night.

I can see both sides of it. With some of the regional sites being an hour away from some of the top teams in the region I can understand breaking the games up into different facilities so more people can actually attend. Then on the other hand you may have some of the best teams meeting in the opening round, as well as some teams playing at the same time if they don't schedule around doing that.

 

But in the 16th region for instance, Morehead is about an hour drive from the Ashland/BC/Russell/Raceland etc areas, which is also where most people in the 16th region live and work. That poses a problem for fans in that area who have to work. Especially considering this season the games are all weekday games with some starting at 6:30pm.

This one is going to be interesting.

From an administration standpoint, it was a lot more beneficial for the region to have district winners host.

 

1) Four different gates being collected vs. two = more money for the region

2) 2 less nights (4 if you count girls as well) of renting EKU arena = less overhead cost

3) Tournament hosts don't have to be gone 8 nights
