Hornets waive Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Featured Replies

Former Wildcat Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been put on waivers by the Charlotte Hornets. He was their #2 pick in the 2012 draft. ESPN reports he could end up with the Dallas Mavericks.

Can’t shoot in a league made for shooters. Had MKG played ten years earlier he’d have fit much better.

Sadly a bust but he got paid.

I said back in 2012 before they got drafted that Darius Miller game would be a better fit in the NBA and have a better career than MKG. I can’t say I was correct because MKG at this point still did average two points more a game. However, I do think it is much closer than many people thought who disagreed with me on that back then. If it wasn’t for tearing his Achilles last summer Miller was starting to really find his role in the NBA, while MKG basically is still trying to find one. Hopefully finding a new team will help get MKG career back on track.

He was never going to be a scorer, that was evident at UK. It's not his fault that he was over valued and got drafted #2. He's made $73,000,000 and been in the league for 8 seasons...pretty good for a kid that's labeled a bust and can't shoot.

You can call me every name in the book for 10% of that amount.
