So obviously this is going to be one of the more high-profile jobs around the state that comes open this year. Granted, it's not exactly the same as having to replace Chuck Smith at Boyle County, but Coach Landis still did some incredibly impressive things in his three years at Douglass, and anyone who decides to fill his shoes is going to have a lot of eyes on him... not necessarily just from Douglass, but also all of Fayette County and realistically the state, given the high profile the Broncos have attained under Coach Landis' watch.

Does Douglass keep this hire in-house, or no? Do they take their time and try to make sure they make the right hire? Or are they looking to get the position filled as soon as possible and minimize any lag between coaching administrations?

Fayette County also has their district-wide athletic director on top of having an AD for each school. I'm a little unfamiliar with the county AD role...so can anyone more informed fill us in on what, if any, role the county AD plays in hiring a coach just like this?

I think he's probably the most likely candidate at this point.

It would seem like a job like this would attract some fairly high-profile applicants though, yes?

Oh absolutely. Seems like they have the majority of the talent in the city right now. Crowdus coming back as well makes the job a gold mine for whoever gets it.

He just kind of oversees all athletics from Elem. through HS the hiring of coaches is done through the principal and AD at the individual high school.

My first call if I’m FD is Steve Lovelace from Christian County. He is a proven winner and would be a Homerun hire for FD.

I would say Mcpeek is there guy.
