Forde confused by another voting scandal in Florida

Featured Replies

Would you feel any better if Tressel voted for Florida?

I don't care what his vote said. He backed down because it was going to be published. If that's OK with you, we disagree...

I SERIOUSLY doubt that.

Probably would've gone along these lines if he voted Florida #2:

"That no good Vest. He knows that Michigan is the greatest program and he doesn't want to face that team again. He squeaked out a 3 point win at home and knows he'd be in for it on a neutral field!! Him and that darned teflon Vest!"

:p

I really don't understand why it is such a big deal. Tressel is not coaching football to please the media people. He is trying to win games for the team he coaches. Hes responsibility is to the players and the school, not to make Pat Forde or GT happy.

In the end the most important thing is the players, and he did nothing to hurt players. I don't think this even compares to pulling a scholarship offer after a player has already committed for no good reason like getting in trouble, grades, etc.

I'll make the point here that I made last night. Do you think Woody Hayes would have backed down from turning in a vote? I say there's no way in hades he doesn't fill his commitment to the system because what the media or fans on message boards might think. Food for thought...

Good point, but also you are holding a coach who slugged a player as your point of reference.

Same goes for Bo. And Woody's a guy OSU fans hold in the highest regard. Not me...:p

At least Urban Meyer was man enough to stay out of the process from day 1. Count on more taking notice next year. Here comes the mid major coaches poll deciding 1/3 of the title picture...

or a coaches poll where the coaches ballot is not known to the public.

They tried that. It was even more corrupt than what we saw this week, so they made the last vote public. Did we all forget about the little white lie Vest told about Texas as #1 on his ballot just a short time ago???

Jim Tressel is not Woody Hayes, hes Jim Tressel. Say what you want about him hes getting it done as a football coach at Ohio St. This is being blown out of proportion. Its not going to ruin college football.

You don't find it the least bit odd that this is the first time in the 16 year history of USA Today running this poll that a Coach knowingly didn't submit a vote? You don't see the bad precedent it sets? If so, I'm better off getting a solid debate with Ms GT on this one...

You have a better chance of winning an argument on here than winning one with the lady in your life.:D:p

I understand. She makes her point, you agree and all is good.

It happens that way if you are as smart of a man as you claim to be.:thumb:
