This may be the case in the KHSAA record book, but according to the Kentucky High School Boys' Basketball Encyclopedia, Manchester/Clay County, Hazard and Ashland have already eclipsed the 2,000 win plateau. According to the book and my research, Ashland was at 2,004 victories coming into this season. My research continues...

Heck of an accomplishment, but something has to be off with this list. Almost 400 wins between 2nd and 3rd? Number 1 with almost double the wins of number 13? Something off with this list. Not saying it's a knock on Ashland but something isn't right with the rest.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread. Some teams played more games than others per year.

I hope they win today. We play them Tuesday at GRCC. I would hate to rain on their parade it should be a great game. I will be back from Florida and will be there cheering on my Cards. LRCW if you are there I hope to see you.

I’ll be there Goldie. That’s the closest area that Ashland will be playing to where I live. I’ll be there with my brother. My nephew is the head coach of Ashland. I think my other brother (Jason’s dad) is coming as well. Hope to see you there and maybe some other BGPers. I’ll be wearing my BGP cap

Congrats to Ashland! Good to see a KY school attain this honor!!!

I think it's incomplete records as well. Per the Kentucky High School Basketball Encyclopedia records (and then the season records since), Bowling Green is 1,832-872. Owensboro is 1,951-914. I expect just about any school that has been playing since all the way back like that will be way up there. I'm actually surprised Owensboro isn't at 2,000 due to how many state tournament appearances they've made. Perhaps Ashland's is just better verified.

Possibly. Or perhaps Ashland really has the most wins in the state lol.

Congrats to Ashland, one of Kentuckys storied programs, sure remember the days when the AIT was the best tournament in the state, used to come down with Holmes and enjoy some very good high school basketball.
