Arkansas fires Chad Morris

Featured Replies

The school must have some deep pockets if what was posted in another thread is correct his buyout is like 12.5 million and drops to like 3 million next year.

Chad Morris was an even less accomplished Willie Taggert. Bad hire from the start for Arkansas. Can’t get blown out against WKU. Granted WKU is much improved but they’re still just an average Group of 5 school. Should’ve fired him on the field after the game.

Hey Jerry, go get Brent Venables.

Venables would be nuts to take that job.

Jerry would guarantee 15 I bet.

Petrino made his mea-culpa tour of Arkansas back at the beginning of the season. And there is a CJ article from just yesterday saying some want him back there before this was announced.

Just sayin....

$15 million to go lose or take whatever Florida State offers and a real chance to win.

You can win at Arkansas. Passionate fanbase. You can recruit Louisiana and Texas. It’s not nearly as good of a job as FSU, but I’d say overall it’s a better job than all but I’d probably rank it the 7th best job in the SEC. It’s not a place you go to die. They’ve just made some bad coaching hires.

But you have to jump 6 or 7 teams to "Really" win...in the current ACC, you only have one team you have to catch up to if you want to win big.

No I agree. If you want to win big go to FSU, I just don’t think Arkansas is that bad of a job was my point.

Arkansas is a 6-6 or 7-5 job, maybe an 8-4. Sort of sounds like the Kentucky job.

And some wanted him back at UofL and we know how that worked out.

Yeah, it's not...I agree.

Bama, LSU, A&M, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee are better jobs. Teams 8-13 I think there is not much a difference between. I’d put Arkansas there because I think you can recruit Texas better at Arkansas than you can at either Mississippi school, South Carolina will never be more than an afterthought in its own state, and Kentucky will continue to be Kentucky and have one special year twice a decade.
