November 10, 20196 yr A statue of an Ohio State graduate is going to be built outside Death Valley. An Ohio State castoff is going to win a Heisman...at LSU. That goes both ways...:lol2:
November 10, 20196 yr You literally aren’t making any sense. Yeah UC wasn’t ranked when they played OSU. But they haven’t lost a game since. It was week 2. Are you really going to cite pre season rankings? What? I don’t care if you think LSU is 1. I care that your logic is flawed. FWIW when counting top 10, top 20 wins the teams ranking when the game was played has always been used. You may not agree with the logic, but that is how it has been for years.
November 10, 20196 yr An Ohio State castoff is going to win a Heisman...at LSU. That goes both ways...:lol2: It still means the same though.
November 10, 20196 yr Curious what you all think, but in my opinion Bama is done. If they beat Auburn that will be their only ranked win of the year and by that point Auburn will likely be a 4 loss team after losing to Georgia and Auburn. So they’ll be in the 15-20 range so it won’t be a statement type win. Then you contrast that with whoever wins the Pac 12 between Oregon and Utah and whoever comes out of the 2 game series between Baylor and Oklahoma and I’m not sure Bama will be able to make a case other than the fact that they’re Bama.

November 10, 20196 yr FWIW when counting top 10, top 20 wins the teams ranking when the game was played has always been used. You may not agree with the logic, but that is how it has been for years. The committee doesn’t use that logic for obvious reasons. If someone else wants to cite as some sense of accomplishment then good for them, but it’s not used by the committee.
November 10, 20196 yr You do know we are still huge fans of Joe Burrow right? We get criticized because we don’t sellout on a former player lol. We love Joe and will always love Joe, just like we do with all other OSU grads. The hate is real and it’s starting to become odd.

Are you really going to cite pre season rankings? What? I don’t care if you think LSU is 1. I care that your logic is flawed. You made a comment about me saying LSU had 4 top 10 wins...that is a fact. Those 4 teams were all ranked in the top 10 when LSU beat them. Preseason rankings have nothing to do with where those teams were when LSU beat them. If you can't understand that logic, I don't know how else to break it down for you. -Bama is currently 3 -Florida is currently 10 -Auburn will be back in the top 10 tomorrow with Penn State losing today. That's 3 top 10 wins with the statement of a 4th top 10 win over a somewhat overrated Texas team being somewhat of a stretch. I can agree there.

Committee or not, that line of thinking and counting top 10 wins has been used for years. I understand your logic, but it doesn't change the fact that's how it's been done.

November 10, 20196 yr No hate, just jerking your chain...chillax dude! I hear you but come on you know where you are lol. Grant and I are always the opposing team walking into the college football threads. We can take it but some of the QB debates are not for me anymore.
November 10, 20196 yr It may be how it HAS been done, but it’s not how it IS done and that’s all that matters. TV announcers and commentators still use that when referencing teams.

I don’t know what to tell you except: 2 does not equal 4, 3 does not equal 4, Penn State isn’t going to drop from 4 to out of the top 10 for losing on the road to a ranked team there is no precedent for that, and your point about UC still makes zero sense.
November 10, 20196 yr TV announcers and commentators still use that when referencing teams. Oh yes, because Gary Danielson is just the greatest example of someone in the know.
