Which 4 seed has the best chance at winning tonight (11/8)

Featured Replies

Everybody loves an underdog right? Of all the 1 vs 4 seed games tonight, which 4 seed has the best chance to get a Win? Be creative and have some fun with this. Give a reason why a 1 seed could fall tonight.

I don't think it will happen, but two stand out in 4A.

In District 3, Valley lost to 1 seed Moore 31-27 a few weeks ago. I couldn't find any real details about that game, but the amount of points scored implies a back and forth game. Valley put a scare into John Hardin as well in that district. I consider that the more likely of the two.

In District 6, Harrison County lost just 8-7 to Holmes a few weeks ago, and meet them again tonight. Holmes was a bit of a surprise winner of that district, and Harrison County has already shown they can play with them.

To a much lesser extent, Franklin County/Waggener has a bit of potential. They played to a 37-20 result a few weeks ago. Waggener lost all their district games, but were competitive in each.

In 5A, Pulaski County flat out lost to Southwestern two weeks ago in overtime, and meet their rival again in the 1/4 game.

In 6A, Madison Central lost just 42-34 to first round opponent George Rogers Clark. It wouldn't be the most likely for a 1-9 team to turn that around, but they were close enough the first time, going purely by scores.

I'm not sure there's a single one in the lower classes that I'd entertain as a possibility. The intra-district format makes it entirely possible that we won't see a single one in any class.

(4) Southwestern at (1) Pulaski County is an easy pick. I've been all in on SW to win this game, but I have a feeling that Coach Hines and Pulaski will regroup and win tonight and maybe win comfortably.

It's worth noting there wasn't a single 1/4 upset last year. There were only ten 2/3 upsets (out of 48 matchups).

#4 Apollo at #1 McCracken Co. Apollo playing well and McCracken County stud RB Hunter Bradley out so this could be very competitive game.

Russell County's Collin Darnell and Dylan Bland ran for 1,062 yards against 4A District 2 competition. In the home game verses Franklin Simpson Darnell ran for 100 yds and Bland 126. If FS doesn't get a handle on these two this could be a big upset.

My pick as well.

Southwestern up 7 to 0 at the half over Pulaski.
