That Strasburg number is just insane to me, when you break it down.

 

$35m/year...let's say he makes 32 starts a year...equals $1,093,750 per start.

 

If he throws an average of 95 pitches per start...that works out to $11,513 PER PITCH!!

 

For a guy who has quite the injury history.

Teams have been calling the Cubs about Yu Darvish :lol2:. 4 years and 81 million is looking like a bargain after he got healthy last year.

 

Darvish was probably in the top 5 most dominating pitchers in the NL the second half of last season. Last year was the first year since 2012 that he did not spend time on the injured list. That creates a major red flag. If healthy, he is a huge bargain. Big if.

Beats committing $225-350 million :lol2:

 

 

 

Honestly, these contracts are getting out of hand. Way too much money at the top while guys in the minors are living in poverty.
