CincySportsFan
Nationals resign Strasburg to a 7 year deal worth $245m. :scared: Well, at least Gerrit Cole has his target now. Yankees or Angels, you're up!
CincySportsFan
That Strasburg number is just insane to me, when you break it down. $35m/year...let's say he makes 32 starts a year...equals $1,093,750 per start. If he throws an average of 95 pitches per start...that works out to $11,513 PER PITCH!!

John Anthony
For a guy who has quite the injury history. A third of that contract will be on the DL.

John Anthony
Cole a Yankee, 9 years/324 million. Teams will never learn, but they also have money to burn I guess.
CincySportsFan
Yankees spent $2 Billion in salaries during the 2010's, and have zero WS rings to show for it. Evidently they think they need to spend more than that to win in the 2020's.

00Rocket28
Teams have been calling the Cubs about Yu Darvish :lol2:. 4 years and 81 million is looking like a bargain after he got healthy last year.
Voice of Reason
Teams have been calling the Cubs about Yu Darvish :lol2:. 4 years and 81 million is looking like a bargain after he got healthy last year. Darvish was probably in the top 5 most dominating pitchers in the NL the second half of last season. Last year was the first year since 2012 that he did not spend time on the injured list. That creates a major red flag. If healthy, he is a huge bargain. Big if.

Beats committing $225-350 million :lol2: Honestly, these contracts are getting out of hand. Way too much money at the top while guys in the minors are living in poverty. CincySportsFan
Diamondbacks sign Madison Bumgarner to a 5-year deal worth $85. This seems like a steal compared to some of the others. I had heard the Reds were interested. I wonder where their offer topped out at.
