Clemson 21 North Carolina 20

If you don’t think Alabama has looked significantly better than Clemson I don’t know what to tell you.

Then tell me that.

They look worse than last year and the same exact offense of Clemson right now boat raced them in the Natty.

After watching Ohio State tonight and the way they have played all year I’m not so sure that they are not the best team in the country so far this season. @John Anthony and @GrantNKY

They have a legitimate argument for it at this point.

Just because it’s the same players doesn’t mean it’s the same team. Trevor Lawrence has been straight up mediocre this year. He was the best player on the field in that championship game. Trust me I’ve seen this act before. It’s called 2015 Ohio State. Same team, same players, mediocre play on the field.

Clemson definitely played a far closer game than I expected and I believe it may make them vulnerable looking as a team. With saying that, they have been notorious for playing very close games to teams that they shouldn’t have. I still believe that Lawrence is the best quarterback in college football, which will help them as the season goes on. At this moment, three teams have legitimate consideration for #1.

The 5th best team in the country barely won today...

They may not be that high.

They may not be that high.

Probably not but we all know the media/voters are in love with Dabo.

You’re taking Trevor Lawrence over Tua, Hurts, Fields, Burrow, Ehlinger, Herbert, Eason, or Fromm right now? I know I’m not.

I’d go Tua, Lawrence, Fields.

I’d go Tua, Lawrence, Fields.

Right now? On September 28th, 2019? He’s looked so average this year. We’re 5 games in and he’s been mediocre in all 5.

I’m ranking them based on what I think about them as players. Not isolated to five games.

Everyone can have a cold spell, even if it’s multiple games. I think that all of the quarterbacks that you mentioned are really good too with exception to Fromm. I know that Lawrence hasn’t looked as good as he has since last season, especially the championship game. I still believe he’s as capable as anyone.

Only thing we know for sure is Fields wasn’t good enough for Georgia/SEC.

That’s fair and going forward I’d probably still take Trevor Lawrence over basically anyone else in the country. But if I needed someone to go out and win me a game today, there’s a handful of guys I’m taking over Trevor right now. He’ll figure it out, but he’s not playing at a high level right now. Certainly no where near the level he was late last year.

Oh there’s no doubt he’s as capable if not more capable than any QB in the country. He’s still hands down the most talented passer in the country. Things just aren’t clicking for him right now. He’s missing throws he shouldn’t and the offense is just not in rythym. There are a bunch of guys playing better than him right now.

It’s truly amazing the 180 Georgia fans have done since this season started. They went from acting like Fields was never good enough to play at Georgia anyways and telling anyone who would listen how horrible of a passer he was at Georgia (despite completing 69% of his passes and not throwing a pick), to now they won’t even engage in conversation about him. They know Fields is special.
