CincySportsFan
VanMeter with a bases-loaded double to score 2. Two batters later, Barnhart with a 3 run shot down the right field line. Good guys lead 5-0 in the 2nd.
LRCW
With Puig still out, VanMeter gets his first start today. He'll be in left, with Winker in right. What roster move did they make to call VanMeter back up to the big club?
CincySportsFan
Zach Duke put on the 10 day IL. Bell said with the 2 days off this week, that the pitching staff was pretty solid and he'd rather have the extra bat. We'll see how long it lasts. Wouldn't be surprised if Cody Reed is back up by the weekend. @LRCW
CincySportsFan
Castillo not sharp here early on. Tagged for a leadoff HR in the 2nd, followed up with a walk. I'll be surprised if he can make it 6 today.
CincySportsFan
Castillo with a great glove toss to Tucker to nail a guy at the plate!
CincySportsFan
And Iglesias with a glove toss to Dietrich to end the inning, stranding 2. End of 2, Reds up 5-1. Castillo with 40 pitches so far.
ChickenWyngz
Nice to see VanMeter knock a double early! Wonder how much of Castillo's struggles in the 2nd was tied to being spotted the 5 run lead. The Cowboy regularly talks about pitching after the big inning/big lead is one of the easier situations to get roughed up in.
CincySportsFan
Dietrich hammers one to straight away center field. 432 feet! Halfway up the batter's eye! 6-1 Reds.
CincySportsFan
Moustakas with a leadoff HR in the bottom of the inning. That one was hit a mile, too. Both Brewer runs via the HR ball.

I'll be surprised if he can make it 6 today. Couldn't even make it half of that. Pulled after 2.2, leading 6-4, but runners on 2nd and 3rd. sumoroyal
Castillo pitching like he has never seen the mound before. He gets a six run lead and he starts every batter 2-0. C'Mon dude, step up cuase we need this game. Bases loaded and three two count. Arica singles and makes it 6-4. Castillo hits the showers. Terrible showing by Castillo. CincySportsFan
Lorenzen with a big K of Braun (who came in to pinch hit) to end the 3rd. Score 6-4 Reds.
CincySportsFan
Votto gets pulled from the base on a high throw from Lorenzen. Was weird to see him with his left foot on the bag, though. Figured he'd be able to stretch further with the right foot on it. (At least that's the way I was always taught.)
